Puri: Puri District Administration Turn off the temple city by ordering curfew from Monday night, in front of Lord Jagannaths’ Bahuda Jatra or the car festival back on Tuesday.
Administration also deployed a special team to track Breakfast Order’s violators, officials said.
“The clock was forced below the 144 CRPC section in the city of Puri Jurisdiction with the effects of 8pm 19 to 8pm on July 21, to ban mass community congregations at the Grand Road / Rooftop and balcony of a side by side,” Puri District Magistrate Cum Collector Samarth Verma said.
Puri SP Kanwar Vishal Singh, who along with the District collector attended the meeting chaired by the Administrator Chree Jagannath Temple Administrator (SJTA) Krishan Kumar, said: “We have mobilized the team to carry out random checks against those who violate those who violate the command of the curfew .
“SP said a few steps were being taken to prevent the entry of unwanted people in the holy city.
Only servants, selected officials will be allowed to participate in the festival and there is a strict prohibition for public participation in the event.
He said the police had initiated legal action against certain people who had been identified to violate the command of the curfew on the day of Ratra Jatra on July 12.
Meanwhile, the police had sealed all the points of entry into the city of Puri and only local residents were allowed to move after verification.
All hotels, lodges, and guest houses on both sides of the Grand Road have been closed after note that some people gather at the top of the roof to watch the festival, an official said.
Kumar said all the settings were in place for smooth behavior from Bahuda Jatra who adhered to the Covid-19 protocol.
A detailed blueprint for conducting Buddy Lords Jatra (July 20), Suna Besha or Golden Athire (July 21) and Niladri Bije or returning to the temple (July 23) ritual was prepared in a meeting.
Kumar said like Ratha Jatra, Bahuda Jatra will also be held without worshiper participation.
He said the RT-PCR test from all participants including the waiter, police, district officials and district administrative officials had been completed on Monday night.
