Odisha: The government asks private schools to follow the norms that are reopened

Bhubaneswar: Department of School Education and Massions on Wednesday asked private schools in the city to comply with guidelines to reopen schools and provide online, offline and hybrid modes to do classes and exams.
Some schools have issued a notification to only carry out offline exams.
“Schools cannot violate guidelines issued by the Department and Special Assistance Commissioners.
If there are schools found violating the guidelines, strict action will be taken against them,” said Bishnupada Setyhi, school and the secretary of the mass education.
The Secondary Education Directorate on Wednesday issued an exhibition notice to the Public School of DAV, Chandrasekharpur, for violating the guidelines and giving notice to students and parents about periodic valuation behavior from February 12 in offline mode.
“Because the suspension of offline classes for a long time, many students may face social-emotional problems and may also be a shortage of readiness to deal with offline checks immediately after reopening the school.
Checking offline mode may be a stressful cause for students.

The notification also said that, in accordance with the government’s orders, it was clear that students had to get the option to take an exam through offline or online or hybrid mode.
However, school authorities say there is a printing error but online notifications released for parents have online and offline options.
“We have revised the notification and have sent it to parents,” school authorities said.
