Bhubaneswar: The Minister of Railway Railway Vaishnaw on Friday told Rajya Sabha that the government was examining the Bargarh-Nawapara Railroad (NUTADADA) project.
If the train line proposal passes, this 142 km railway will touch Padampam and Bawbail in the Bargarh district.
The minister, replying to Rajya Sabha Prasana Acharya said the survey for a new line between Bargarh Road and Nawapara Road Via Padamp was completed in 2018-19.
“This project is operatively not being justified, thus, it cannot be published,” read the answer.
However, Bargarh-Nawapara through the Padampam project (142 km) has been identified by Odisha Rail Infrastructure Development Limited (Oridl), a joint venture of the Odisha Government (51 percent) and the train Ministry (49 percent) for development.
“The Odisha government has given their approval to bear land costs.
The proposal has been taken for inspection,” Minister said in the answer.
Rama Krishna Purohit, a doctor from Bargarh, said this project would resolve many people’s problems from the area.
“Now we don’t have train connectivity to the Temple of Nrusinghanath.
If this project sees the light that day, it can touch the tourist spot when connecting Bargarh with Nabuada.
After train communication, this place will get more tourists and worshipers,” he added.
He said people from Bargarh Regency could save more than two hours if they traveled to Raipur through Nabuada.
“Now we have to go to Raipur through Titlagarh.
We can even save time while traveling to Bhubaneswar.
Some places like bawbepur, atxx, gaisilets and paikmal will get train connectivity,” he added.
This is the old demand from the district of Bargarh District to provide train connectivity between Bargarh and Nuabada.
Even political parties also show interest in this problem.
This train line will cut the trip time to Raipur and Bhubaneswar.
