Bhubaneswar: Sangram Khhari Jena, a former President of the Odisha Youth Congress and the son of the former State President of the State Party of Jayadev Jena, surrendered to post-covid complications in a hospital in Hyderabad on Thursday.
Sangram (44), a popular youth leader, was in the support of the ventilator in Bhubaneswar for more than three weeks after he tested positive in April.
He was flown to Hyderabad in May for ECMO treatment.
Sangram’s family member, quoted the doctors, said his condition deteriorated quickly on Wednesday night.
The doctors claimed to die early on Thursday.
In 2014, Sangram did not succeed in opposing the selection of Sabha from the Bhadrak seat on the congressional ticket.
Congress leaders lamented Sangram’s death and held a meeting of condolences at the Bhawan Congress here at night.
