Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECOR) has intensified the work of the restoration track after derailing the train-loaded train between Angul and Talcher Road Stations on Tuesday.
This can complete restoration work on Thursday morning.
The train slipped near Angul about 2.35 in the morning on Tuesday due to flash floods, triggered by heavy rain, weakening the train track base near the bridge above Rivulet.
Ecor has intensified restoration work where nine train carriages are reversed.
In addition, one cart slipped.
The Head of the East Coast Railway Public Relations Officer Kaushalendra Kishore Khadanga said the restoration work was taking place on the war footing.
“We have used various equipment along with cranes on the road to clean the track.
When the machine is in a precarious condition, the restoration team takes more time to carry a machine from the track,” he added.
All the broken 10 carriages were cleaned from the path of 18.30 a night on Wednesday.
Because the affected train part was one line, several trains were canceled and diverted on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Four Trains – Durg-Puri Special, Puri-Durg Special, Puri-Hata Special and Hatiia-Puri Special canceled on Wednesday.
Three trains are diverted on different routes.
Ecor also decided to cancel six trains for Thursday.
This is-Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Inter City Special, Bhubaneswar-Rourkela Inter City Special, Bhubaneswar-Balalangir Inter City Special, Balalangir-Bhubaneswar Inter City Special, Special Rourkela-Puri and Puri-Rourkela.
Puri-Indore Special is rescheduled because of this restoration work.
“All ten carriages affected by slipped trains have been based.
The effort continues to restore train engines take all safety prevention measures,” said Ecor Communication.
In the relevant development, train services in the Kharagpur-Bhubaneswar section were partly affected on Wednesday on Wednesday due to waterlogging on the railroad in the Hijli Station area along with several parts of the Kharagpur train division under the South East Railway.
As a result, three trains are controlled in the middle of the road.
