Bhubaneswar: Three Maoists, including two women, were shot by police in the range of Tulsi forests in the Malkangiri Odisha district on Tuesday.
Their identity and ranking are being verified, the police source said.
“The combined team of the SOG and DVF team we conducted an operation in Malkangiri.
Maois first opened a shot on our personnel, who then replied in self-defense.
So far, the three Maoist’s body has been found.
There is no loss of life or injury from the police side has been reported , “said Director General of Police Odisha Abhay.
DGP said two firearms, including an Instant had been confiscated from Maois.
“Complete and search operations still take place in the forest,” Abhay said.
Overall six Maoists have been killed at a police meeting so far this year in the state.
