Odisha to strengthen disaster management wings

Bhubaneswar: Arm of the Battle of the State Government such as the Disaster Odisha Fast Action Force (ODRAF) and fire service personnel will be equipped with high-tech facilities and get better training to deal with disasters in a more effective way.
At the State Executive Committee meeting on disaster preparedness, the Chief Secretary of the Sure Chandra Mohaparna directed officials to develop the capacity of disaster management personnel in dealing with urban floods given the uncertain rainfall patterns in the past few years.
He also emphasized the need to train personnel in handling fires and other emergency accidents in tall buildings.
Because the country has begun the process to make the tsunami coastal village ready, it was also decided to accelerate to cover more villages.
