Bhubaneswar: Chairman of the Minister of Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday launched a road safety initiative here called Rakshak – First respondent training program.
In this initiative, at least 30,000 volunteers, living or working in restaurants and different business companies are located near accident-prone spots, will be trained as the first street respondent.
“A road accident is a serious cause for all of us.
They have a serious impact on our family and our economy.
In the case of a road accident, the first hour after the accident is the most important thing to save life,” said Naveen.
The capacity building program is being organized by the Department of Commerce and Transportation in partnership with Deutsche Gesellschaft Fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Odisha branch of the Indian Red Cross.
In the first phase, 300 main coaches, including volunteers from the Indian Red Cross and NGOs in all states, will receive coach training (TOTS) from the Experts of the Automotive Skills Development Board (ASDC).
Tots will be carried out in 10 places – Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Religious, Sambalpur, Ballasore, Coraput, Phulbani, Sundergarh, Keonjhar and Bhawanipatna.
