BHUBANESWAR: State agriculture ministry Arun Kumar Sahoo on Thursday led officials of cyclone-affected districts to publish a preliminary record of compensation to agriculture and allied businesses by Friday.
Sahoo held a digital meeting Thursday with senior officers of agriculture, fisheries and animal sources development sections to take inventory of their damages.
“The agriculture and fisheries division had taken measures to reduce the reduction as part of preparations before Cyclone Yaas.
Since the cyclone has passed, our attention would be to submit an initial report on the exceptional aid commissioner from Friday day,” Sahoo stated.
He explained field-level officials of the branches are requested to go to the affected regions to take inventory of their problem and then submit a preliminary record.
The last report will be ready following the flood water recedes.
According to reports in the floor, the state government is very likely to announce payment for the affected farmers, farmers and other communities according to relief code standards.
The cyclonic storm and following heavy rain caused enormous damage in coastal and northern districts since paddy plants in Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Kendrapada districts spread on tens of thousands of hectares are submerged.
Horticulture farmers also have faced anger of this cyclone in coastal and coastal districts.
The cyclone also ruined betel wineries in certain coastal regions.
Lakhs of cyclists in Bhadrak, Balasore and portions of Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur districts also have been hit badly.
A large number of fishing boats anchored along the coasts were ruined by the cyclone in addition to their own houses.
Amongst others, officials of this country animal sources development department were requested to also submit report concerning reduction to fish farms because of the cyclone, stated an official.
