Bhubaneswar: Minister of Education Union Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday review the implementation scheme of Rashtriya Uchchattar Shiksha Abhiyan (deer) for the development of educational infrastructure in state education institutions.
Deer program 1.0 and deer 2.0 will be finished soon.
The Union Minister directed his official to release delayed deer fund arrears to Odisha.
This center plans to start deer 3.0 for the development of state-state educational institutions, said source.
The minister discussed in detail with the Ministry of Higher Education officials including the main Secretary of Sasswat Mishra and the Chairperson of the Higher Education Board of Ashoka Kumar Das about strengthening online education, the development of the National Research Institute (NEP).
He advised officials of the Ministry of Higher Education began a campaign to ensure 100 percent of teacher vaccination, students aged more than 18 years and school and college employees.
It was his first visit to Odisha after taking over the Ministry of Education.
He said education was the responsibility of the center and country.
“I have planned to visit countries to find out their views and perspectives about education.
Today I discussed the Odisha government officials to strengthen the education sector,” he added.
This center has agreed to 161 higher education institutions including the level of college and universities from Odisha under the deer scheme.
Odisha has so far received a center share of Rs 395.42 Crore under various components of the deer scheme.
“The Minister emphasizes collaborative efforts by the central and state for better research and publications and other aspects,” said Secretary of the Department of Sasswat Mishra.
He also discussed various problems with school department officials and mass education.
Pradhan said the government would emphasize the provision of facilities such as water, electricity, toilets and the internet at 50,000 schools in two years.
