Noida: The Ministry of Health will establish a special vaccination site at Spectrum and GIP Malls from Monday in an effort to autoculate those aged more than 45 years.
Officials said there were nearly 64,000 people in the age group that had not taken a single dose.
Covishield will be provided on the drive-through site at Spectrum Mall, Sector 75, and Great Indian Place (GIP), sector 38A.
While priorities will be given to the first dose recipient, the second dose will also be given, officials said.
“We have noticed that many people in the age group of 45+ years have missed vaccine doses and they must be accounced based on priority.
Most people in the age group 18-44 years have taken Jab.
Two special camps will help people get vaccines without much hassle,” Dr.
Neeraj Tyagi said, district immunization officer.
According to data collected during driving special supervision carried out from September 7 to 16, around 64,000 people in the district in 45 years and the above categories have not taken a single dose of vaccines.
From them, around 22,000 vaccinated during the mega drive on September 27.
There were 5.06 lakh people in the age group 45+ and so far, 4.64 lakh people have been vaccinated.
Saying on the estimated population of the department, 108% of the population in the age group of 18-44 years has taken the first dose of vaccines, 91% in 45 years and the above categories have taken photos.
About 9% in 45 years and the above categories have not been vaccinated.
“We work with projections according to the 2011 census and at present, the district population is more than three times that number.
There is also a large floating population here.
So, there may be more people who have not been taken into account,” said Dr.
Sunil Sharma, Head of Medical Officer , Gautam Budh Nagar.
