Gurgaon: a group of people who came to offer Namaz at Leisure Valley Ground in Sector 29 were asked to pray in the room given the increasing Covid case in the city.
On five other designated sites, Friday prayers were offered peacefully.
After weeks of protest over Friday prayers in an open place with several clothes, the number of sites designated for Namaz reduced to only six.
Leisure Ground Field is one of them.
The demand for offering prayers in the room was made by Taukir Ahmad, the priest who held Namaz at Leisure Valley.
“This is for everyone’s salvation,” he said, and urged everyone to follow the guidelines issued by the government.
Ahmad said Namaz would not be organized in sector 29 until the order further.
“We will make decisions as and when the situation increases,” he added.
Until now, not the police and administration have not issued directions about Friday prayers in the appointed location amid increasing Covid cases.
Salman Ali, who came to offer Namaz at Udyog Vihar, said there was no interference.
“Our priest has not given direction so far for Friday prayers on this site until now,” Ali said.
