Marvel’s ‘ELERNALS’ down in its second weekend in theaters, but it still depends on the first place in the international box office.
‘ELERALAL’ adds $ 27.5 million over the weekend, bringing its domestic total to $ 118.8 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.
This film, directed by Oscar winner Chloe Zhao and starring Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani and Gemma Chan, down 61% from its debut.
Although it is not uncommon for big superhero tentpole, it is significantly steeper than the 52% decline seen by Disney and Marvel latest deals, ‘Shang-chi and legends ten rings’.
Both played exclusively in the cinema, but the main difference is the ‘Shang-Chi’ just gets better ratings from the audience and critics.
Asian Superhero movie is also available for streaming at Disney + this weekend.

‘ELERALAL’ has generated $ 281.4 million globally to date.
Second place went to ‘Clifford The Big Red Dog’, which opened in theaters for a week and is also available for streaming at home for customers Paramount +.
An estimated $ 16.4 million from 3,700 theaters over the weekend and $ 22 million in five days in release.
Though critics were not impressed (48% on rotten tomatoes), the audience is more forgiving, giving promising CinemaCore.

“There is much talk about the family audience and whether they want to go to the movies,” said Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at ComScore.
“I think this is a very solid debut.
It shows there is a demand for a family movie on a small screen and the big screen.”
Blockbusters completes the top five with ‘Dune’ in third place with $ 5.5 million, ‘there is no time to die’ fourth with $ 4.6 million and ‘poison: Let there be a massacre by $ 4 million.
In particular, ‘Venom 2’ this weekend into a pandemic-era movie only second to cross the $ 200 million mark at the domestic box office office.
