‘Office’ illegal ordered razed, min claimed it was not his

Mumbai: Lokayukta has ordered the demolition of illegal offices allegedly used by Minister of Transportation Anil Puriab in an open space in the Mhada colony in Bandra (East).
The order stated that Parab in a letter to Mhada said that both land and his structure and the allegations were made to defile them.
In October, BJP politician Kirit Somaiya accused the Puriab of illegal construction and in March filed complaints with Lokayukta.
He had approached Lokayukta after Mhada allegedly failed to act on his complaint.
He also filed a complaint with the Nirmal Nagar police station.
“There was enough evidence, including a press conference conducted by Pariab in the office, to show his structure.
He has revealed the structure but we will ensure he is convicted of establishing illegal structures,” Somaiya said on Sunday.
Following Somaiya’s complaint, Lokayukta has directed the government to submit a report on alleged illegal construction.
The trial was carried out through video conferencing on September 2 with Somaiya, the main secretary (housing) Milind Mhaiskar, vice president of Mhada Anil Diggikar and Mhada Mhase Mhase Head.
In his complaint, Somaiya has shown that some illegal development has emerged in vacant land between building Mhada 57 and 58.
Mhada has issued a notice for demolition in 2019 and issued a notification to the Parab, which later became a member of the Legislative Council, for unauthorized construction.
After the Puriab letter, Mhada has attracted notice to him.
“I have told me that the land was not mine, and his structure.
Mhada has answered me saying that the notification was issued for me because of a mistake,” said Puriab on Sunday.
In the trial, Mhaiskar proposed that because in the field of High Court remained in demolition remembering rain and covid, the structure could not be destroyed.
Stay, which until August 13, has now been extended until September 30.
Diggikar tells the Lokayukta Justice V M Kanade that all structures will be destroyed once the visit given by the High Court was emptied.
Lokayukta’s order said it had received a statement made by the officer and directed that an illegal structure was destroyed after the High Court emptied the stay.
“Compliance reports will be submitted to this office in a month after the structure is destroyed,” the command word.
