Gurgaon: Deputy Commissioner of Faridabad, corporate commissioner of Faridabad City (MCF) and other senior administrative officials visited Khori on Thursday and appealed to the villagers to empty their homes before demolition began.
They told the villagers that they could bring their home construction materials, including bricks, windows, doors etc.
The authorities now have less than two weeks remaining according to the six-week deadline given by the Supreme Court to destroy around 10,000 illegal structures on Aravali forest land.
Faridabad officials said they provided Earthmover and trucks so people could take their construction materials and other items.
“We have little time left to obey the six-week time limit and can give the villagers until July 9, because it will take us a few days to clear encroachment from all of the forest land.
Meanwhile, we asked people on Thursday to empty their homes before demolition .
We have also begun to clean up the remaining debris from the previous demolition so the movement is not limited during the driving demolition, “said Deputy Commissioner Faridabad Yashpal Yadav to Tii.
“Where do we take these bricks and items? When we say that we have no place to go, it’s true.
I have sent my books and some of our valuable things we have to my friend’s place, but I don’t Can stay there with my whole family, “said a villager.
On Thursday, villagers along with several organizations that support them gathered near Jantar Mantar in Delhi to protest against demolition.
“People are cheated by the land mafia to buy land here.
They were arrested and made homeless people when the government had to make arrangements for their homes,” said Meenu Verma, who participated in protest.
