Pune: Middle School Certificate (SSC, STD X) and Medium Certificate (HSC, STD XII) scheduled for in February and in March will be held on schedule, the State Council authority said on Monday.
Schools and colleges have been given the freedom to do oral and practical for the exam according to their schedule but the offline exam will be carried out as stated, Chairman of the State Council Sharad Gosavi said.
“Schools can carry out students’ internal exams with their own management.
The written exam will be held according to the previous schedule.
However, based on the situation before the exam, the decision will be made,” he added.
Last year, both tests were canceled after a few days of uncertainty.
The state government first canceled the SSC Board exam in May 2020, but delayed the decision about the HSC exam.
The Board then announced an assessment formula for STD X students.
Then, in June, the state government canceled the HSC Board Examination also to anticipate the third wave of pandemics.
The results were declared based on internal evaluation.
Classes for academic years are currently starting on June 15 online.
After cases began to decline, schools for class VIII and so on starting October 4, 2021.
Last month, the State Council announced a schedule for the SSC and HSC exams.
Thus, the HSC exam will begin on March 4 while the SSC exam will start from March 15.
Nearly 32 Lakh students will appear for the State Council test collectively for SSC and HSC from Maharashtra.
This year, practical exams will begin on February 14 along with oral examinations.
The syllabus has been reduced by 25%.
Students have demanded a reduction in the test level of the exam.
Two national boards, CBSE and CICSE, have planned their STD X and XII exams in two terms and will not announce the status pass or fail to examine the term 1 conducted in November-December 2020.
The second term exams they tend to be held in March-April , This year.
Students must appear for both term exams.
However, the State Council has distanced itself from such settings and attached to one final exam for assessment.
