Varanasi: The celebration scene was witnessed outside the house Lalit Upadhyaya in Varanasi on Thursday after the Indian men’s hockey team rewrote history by claiming the Olympic medal after 41 years.
The Indian team won a bronze medal after beating Germany 5-4.
The family of Lalit Upadhyaya congratulated each other.
Father Lalit Satish, Upadhyaya said, “The team has played well in the semifinals too but lost in the last 15 minutes.
This time they showed struggling skills until the last moment and won bronze.
Our whole family is happy.” Sister Lalit, Anjali said that it was good to see India win the Olympic medal in hockey after decades.
He was also happy that his brother was part of this team.
