Ranchi: A Hockey player from a village that was not painted in the SIMDEGA district in Jharkhand, Salima Tete, had brought home not only a victory for himself by participating in the Tokyo Olympics but also a number of opportunities for his players.
After pulling the eyeball of government and private players, the fate of the player in Simdega is likely to change.
The District Administration in Simdega has begun the development of skills, career counseling and personality development centers within the district of the Manpower Office Building for the Bride of Youth, especially sportsmen to meet industry standards for work.
Deputy Commissioner Sushant Gaurav said that Simdega had excelled in sports but a lot of time the players did not feel confident enough to appear outside the state and country.
“Training of body language and English language training spoken to players will increase their confidence and help them improve their performance in the field.
We aim to develop this center as a ‘center of excellence’ for district youth and students,” he said.
On the other hand, St Johns School alumnus and St Xavier’s College in Ranchi, Professor Arun Roy, in each capacity has reached the district players who are not included in the government scheme.
Roy has arranged donations to fund nutritious food for the players.
“As soon as a player gets the opportunity to participate in the Olympics, it encourages many other people to take sports but not all are borne by the benefits of the government,” he said.
Identifying such players through a Hockey coach at Simdega Hockey Center Manoj Konbegi, Roy has arranged a nutritious ration for a dozen players to start.
The ration package has been set in consultation with Nutritionist Dr.
Mamta Kumari and consists of locally available things such as soy flour and wheat, Kabuli, gram black, date, Rajma and Mustard oil.
Similar support has been expanded to players at Bariatia Girls Hockey Center.
Roy has also initiated an English language training session spoken online for the players.
“We strive to operate as a bridge and will distribute any assistance that comes to these players,” said Roy, added that he had a plan to identify more players like that and give them nutritional support.
Dr.
Raj Chandra Jha from Ranchi has joined Roy’s Storor to provide medical assistance to the players while Dr.
Glenn Mascarenhans and Dr.
Manaha Bose from Bangkok have offered to provide training in communication skills to the players.
