Olympic Flame Arrives in Tokyo for Relay No-Spectator

Tokyo: The Olympic fire arrived in Tokyo on Friday but with the public maintaining a low reception ceremony because of the fear of Coronavirus, a day after the announcement “heartbreaking” that the audience would be banned from most of the events.
On the morning rain on two weeks before the opening ceremony of the biggest sporting event since the pandemic began, the flame was brought to the stage in the lantern and was handed over to Governor Tokyo Yuriko Koike.
Tokyo 2020 organizers and government officials on Thursday night announced their decision to make fans of the Olympic incident in the capital, who would be under emergency viruses in all matches.
This means the Pandemi-Postponed game will be the first to occur mostly behind the closed door.
A number of competitions will take place outside the capital.
Relay Torch is intended to build excitement for the match, but has been withdrawn from public roads in the capital to prevent the crowd from spreading viruses as an increased infection.
Before the flame arrived, five male trumpet players wore clothes playing rousing melodies under the gazebo to protect them from drizzle, in front of only a journalist and a handful of officials.
The trial stands empty at the Komazawa Olympic Park Stadium in the southeast outskirts of the capital, which is used at the Tokyo Olympics 1964.
“I am glad we welcome the torch relay, with this heritage we are proud to show at home and abroad,” Koike said.
But the Governor of Tokyo, who was recently hospitalized due to fatigue, cough three times during his short speech and several times after that.
The program on Friday gave a sense of atmosphere that could wait athletes at the opening ceremony, to be held at the National Stadium in the city center.
The decision for fan bars came after the government said the emergency would be applied in Tokyo throughout the match to curb a rebound in infection and fear of a more contagious Delta variant.
On Thursday night, Koike could not hide his disappointment because he did not have fans in the match.
“I feel sad about this decision,” he said.
When 2020 matches were postponed last year because the scale of the pandemic became clear, there was their conversation will be staged as proof that the world has overcome the virus.
But the tone of victory has given the way in a harsh reality of a surge in new infections and more contagious variants, including Delta tensions that have caused the revival of viruses in many countries.
The national torch relay has been full of problems since it began in March, with almost half the legs disturbed in several ways.
Relations are forced from public roads in famous tourist cities such as Kyoto and Hiroshima because of fear that fans can spread viruses.
And it also met several public opposition, with a 53-year-old woman was arrested on Sundays because of spraying liquid from the water gun to runner.
