Chandigarh: Champions Olympic Neeraj Chopra on Wednesday met Minister Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar and said he would continue to work hard to make the country and country proud of his achievements.
Chopra, who cannot attend the function of the criminal organized by the state government on August 13 because of illness, said only topics related to sports discussed during his meeting with Khattar.
“It is a great feeling that today I met with the main minister.
I will try my best level to make Haryana and the nation proud of the upcoming sporting event,” Chopra said.
Khattar said Chopra, who won gold in the Javelin throw at the Tokyo Olympics earlier this month, has not only brought victory for the country but also for his home village, family and Haryana.
He said the Chopra family had a major contribution to this achievement.
Because of the family’s contribution, Chopra has made the nation and Haryana proud, the head of the Minister said.
Detailed discussions were held about coach Chopra and its national and international records at the Javelin thrown, according to official release.
CM respects Chopra by presenting shawls, recalls and holy books of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita.
Khattar also respected Uncle Chopra Bhim, who accompanied him.
Bhim invited cm to come to the village of originating from Khandra where Khattar is sure that he will immediately make a program for the same thing.
CM said that developing Haryana as a sports center was the priority of the state government.
For this, athletes like Chopra will certainly play an important role in inspiring the younger generation, CM said.
He said the center of the advantage for athletics established in Panchkula would be proven effective for promoting sports.
Sports Minister Sandeep Singh was also present at that occasion.
Chopra then asked Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Prashanta Kumar Agrawal at the police headquarters.
