Bhubaneswar: In the morning and Mrs.
Amit Rohidas itchy to go tend to her fields.
He has decided to plant rice puppies on Thursday, the beginning of the new season.
Away from the house, his son did the same life, inhaling back in the history of Indian sports which was almost forgotten.
This morning he reached the fields late, because in Tokyo, his son gave Germany a hard time, blocking almost everything they threw him out of Drag Flicks, sometimes even putting his body on the phone.
Amit, in his first Olympics, had done the same thing in all tournaments and as many as P Sreejesh was praised at his efforts in the goal, a muscular defender from Saunamura Village, in the Sundaragarh Odisha district, had received praise for his courage behind.
Sitting in front of the TV and watching India beat Germany to claim the Olympic medal after 41 years, the thought of guplapi continued to travel back to Amit’s father, who had died last year.
Rohidas Gopal was used to play hockey for his village team and want his son to represent India at the Olympics one day.
“He will be the happiest watch this match,” Guplapi said by telephone.
Gopal, who suffers from kidney disease, requires dialysis regularly, but Covid places spanners in the work.
He died in October last year due to lack of care.
“This is a moment of pride for all of us.
Being part of the Olympic Medal Winner team is a dream for every sport.
So it’s for Amit,” he said.
The celebration ends, the guplapi gets ready to go to the rice fields.
“I’m late.
Ten workers have been engaged to planting rice puppies.
If I don’t leave, work will suffer,” he said.
Amit is the youngest of the five siblings covering three sisters and two brothers.
His brother Niranjan (32) played a little hockey but now running a tent house and a little agriculture.
When Amit returned home, Guplapi wants to talk to him about his marriage.
“Every time we try to make a wedding topic, Amit will say, ‘Let the Olympiad finish’.
Now the Olympics end, he finally agreed to get married,” he hoped.
