New Delhi: The 100 meter sprint program is one of the big spotlight at any Olympics.
And just like a 100m men’s dash, a woman’s event is also one of the most watched events at The Games.
The Marquee event in the women’s category has witnessed the crushed world record in the match on twelve occasions and that was what brought the stakes as heavy as athletes, encouraging them to provide the best and so on, when competing in this high octane contest.
From America Betty Robinson – The first winner in the event to Jamaica Elaine Thompson who won gold in the Rio 2016 game, a 100m dash in the category of women had seen several extraordinary performances.

Top athletes with most Medalsshelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce – Jamaica (2 gold and 1 bronze in 100 million women) One of the biggest women’s runners of all time, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce from Jamaica is on the table when it comes to reaching the most Medals at the Olympics at this event.
With some gold and bronze, Fraser-Pryce has been completed on three-fold podium in his Olympic career.
In the 2008 Beijing game, Fraser-Pryce became the first Caribbean woman to win 100m gold at the Olympics.
He then managed to defend his title in the London 2012 game with 10.75 seconds.
In the Rio game, Fraser-Pryce settled bronze, finishing behind his art Elaine Thompson and American Tori Bowie.
Fraser-Pryce, 34, will then be seen in the action in the upcoming Tokyo game where it meets last month’s requirements in June with the second fastest period of a woman at the age of 10.63 seconds.
Wyomia Tyus and Gail Devers – US (2 gold in 100 m) Wyomia Tyus and Gail Devers are the top two women and American field athletes, each of which dominates sports in the 60s and 90s.
Tyus was the first Sprint athlete who managed to defend his title in Mexico 1968 after first winning in 1964 in Tokyo.
Devers, on the other hand, became the second woman to succeed in replicating Feat Tyus, winning gold in Barcelona 1992 and 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
The two women claimed 2 gold medals each during their Olympic career and together sat second on the table with most medals in the events of 100 million women in the match.
Wyomia Tyus (Getty Images) Stanislawa Walalasewicz (Poland), Renate Stecher (East Germany) & Evelyn Ashford (US) – (1 gold and 1 silver in 100 million women) Polish athlete Stanislawa Walasiewicz has a unique trip at the Olympics.
When he was 3 months old, his family emigrated to America in 1911.
After doing all the training there, Stanislawa, in the period to the 1932 Olympics made his mind represent Poland.
And only a few days before the American ‘citizenship oath’, he adopted Polish citizenship.
Walasiewicz in 1932 and then 1936 matches bagged gold and silver respectively for Poland in a 100m woman.
He finally took American citizenship in 1947.
Renate Stecher (East Germany – now dissolved) and Evelyn Ashford (United States) are two other women’s athletes who have two medals each, gold and silver in the 100 meter lady’s event at the Olympics.
While Stecher starred in the 1972 and 1976 matches, Evelyn made his sign in the match in the 1984 and 1988 competition.
Stecher was the first woman to violate a sign below 11 seconds in a 100m race while Evelyn, a few years later became the first woman to do it at the Olympics , Overall, in his career, Evelyn violated a barrier under 11 seconds more than 30 times.
