Olympic Tokyo: Canada de Grasse won 200m gold

Tokyo: Andre De Grasse Canada won the men’s 200 meter gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics on Wednesday with a hot time of 19.62 seconds, a national record.
De Grasse, who claimed Bronze 100m and 200m silver at the 2016 Olympics and the 2019 World Championship, entered the third turn but surged through his rival in the last 40 meters to claim victory.
Canadians won the first 200M Olympics since Jamaica Usain Bolt, who won gold at three consecutive Olympics from the 2008 Beijing match before retiring in 2017.
Kenny Bednarek from the United States took the silver medal and compatriot Noah Lyles claimed bronze.
