Tokyo: India Archer Deepika Kumari and Asan Das on Monday began their training in Tokyo ahead of the upcoming Olympics.
The first batch of athletes bonded by the Indian Olympics landed in Tokyo on Sundays and they all started their training today.
Deepika and Asan formed a mixed team and they began their training to be the best for competition.
The Indian contingent that left for Tokyo from New Delhi on July 17, after the official sender at Indira Gandhi International Airport, safely reached Japan and checked into the Olympic Village.
All 88 athletes underwent Covid-19 testing at the airport and found negative.
Their PVC card is also validated at the airport.
Archery will host five shows at the upcoming Tokyo Olympics – individual men, women’s individuals, men’s teams, women’s teams and mixed teams.
This event will take place from July 23 and will last until July 31 at Yumenhima Park Archery Field.
Archery is one of the events where India has not won a medal at the Olympics.
However, this time, this country believes the contingent of the archery is because the four competitors qualified into the competition well in their previous competition.
