Chennai: Those who are looking for work as domestic assistance in foreign countries can now expect the environment in a safe workplace, with the Corporation Manpower Overseas (OMC) from the State Labor Department taking steps to ensure their rights and security.
As the first step towards it, the agency has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kuwait Gate Foundation (KGF) for the recruitment of servants in Kuwait.
The body from Kuwait has approached OMC to recruit 500 servants.
This MoU is valid for two years.
“According to the advice of the Minister of Justice (MK Stalin) and the guidance of the Minister of Welfare of Welfare Welfare (CV Ganesan), the department takes every effort to facilitate employment opportunities to the community in Tamil Nadu to work in foreign countries,” said Managing Director OMC CN Mahesaran.
Agencies have reached various authorities and agents in foreign countries to build a network to send labor from India to these countries.
The MoU with the Kuwaitit body is the result of one of these efforts.
“The aim of MOU is to ensure safe migration and work atmosphere for people from TN who will go to foreign countries to find livelihoods.
It also aims to explore the available job opportunities and facilitate candidates who meet the requirements, which are Register with OMC, to get a suitable job, “said a senior official.
“Those who are interested in taking jobs abroad can approach OMC or contact the District Employment Office,” the official said.
