New Delhi: In the midst of the emergence of the Omicron variant of Coronavirus, a health expert on Saturday warned that this variant could cause children to witness more problems compared to the Delta variant.
According to experts, the omicron variant can be more deadly for children because this variant mainly affects the upper respiratory tract and children have a higher respiratory level than adults who make them more susceptible to agents in the air.
“The breathing treaty of children smaller than adults and new variants has greatly affected the upper respiratory tract among infected patients,” Anesh Arya, senior consultant in respiratory medicine, Sri Balaji Action Medical Institute, New Delhi said.
“Therefore it can be said that there is a possibility of children’s opportunity to witness more problems, which might be a concern but not deadly than adults,” Arya added.
Tushar Tayal, Senior Consultant, Internal Medicine, Superspeciality Narayana Hospital, Gurugram said that compared to the previous variant for the current variants affected more children in the amount.
Experts say that omicron symptoms in children are similar to adults such as sore throat, lightweight fever, fatigue, etc.
“We must be more prepared for the safety of our children this time.
The symptoms that exist in children are not much different from adults., Including, cough and cold, fever, etc.,” Tayal said.
“Parents must make their children stay at home as much as possible, take any preventive measures related to Covid-19 and care for their nutrition to fight severity if infected,” he added.
According to data from US centers for controlling and prevention of disease (CDC), an average of 672 children were hospitalized every day with Covid-19 during the last week ending on Sunday – the highest number of pandemics.
Meanwhile, a study by the CDC said that the children infected with Covid-19 had a higher risk of developing new cases of diabetes after their infection.
In India, the Ministry of Health Union on Saturday morning said that with 64 fresh omicron infections were detected in the last 24 hours, the national calculation of the Covid-19 variant which greatly transfers this has increased to 3,071.
