Mumbai: In what can indicate the initial transmission of the Omicron community, the state on Wednesday confirmed 38 cases of rapid spread variants in people without international travel history.
Overall, the state announced 85 cases of omicron in Maharashtra on Wednesday, taking the total number to 252.
47 which remained including 43 international travelers and four of their contacts.
The sources told Tii that 38 cases planted every trip history including 12 people who attended a five-day winter session at Vidhan Bhavan which ended on Tuesday.

BMC officials said that 19 cases in Mumbai came from Colaba, Tardeo, Giragaum, Worli, Bandra and Khar, among others.
From affected, three have mild symptoms, 16 asymptomatic.
Eight is fully vaccinated.
Dr.
Pradeep Vyas, the Head of the Additional Secretary (Health), said these cases did not always confirm that Omicron circulated in the community.
“The Government of India conducts community supervision nationally.
Mumbai and Pune have been chosen, and all positive samples will be sent to sort,” he said.
State officials said that 38 samples were detected through special exercises for sequential samples found positive for Covid in Mumbai and Pune starting from December 21.
Dr.
Pradeep kicked, the State Supervisory Officer said that 300 samples from Pune are routinely sent to sort as part of this exercise.
He said it was important to note that of 252 cases in Maharashtra, 99 had run out.
Among the people who returned were found positively found for Omicron were people who had traveled to and returned from Dar Es Salaam, Nairobi, Uganda, Tanzania and London on December 21.
The state has tested 28,107 people from ‘risky countries’ and found 204 positive covids.
More than 1.6 lakh people have been tested from non-risk countries.
