New Delhi: Given the increase in omicron cases in Delhi, Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has banned all types of meetings on Christmas and New Year in the national capital.
“In accordance with DDMA orders, all social, political, sports, entertainment, cultural, religious, and related festivals meetings and the congregation are completely prohibited in Delhi,” Read the DDMA command.
DDMA has directed all district and DCPS judges to ensure that no cultural events, meetings or congregations take place to celebrate Christmas or New Year in the National Capital Region (NCT) from Delhi.
A total of 213 cases of omicrons have been detected throughout India so far, with Delhi recording 57 cases, the highest among all states and UTS, followed by Maharashtra (54), Telangana (24), Karnataka (19), Rajasthan (18), Kerala (15) and Gujarat (14).
