Chandigarh: Two more cases of Omicron variants who are very transmitting in Covid-19 are reported in the city on Sunday.
Both are relatives of the first-20-year-old resident of Italy who have been positively tested on December 11 when he visits relatives here.
He has landed in the country on November 22.
One new patient was an 80-year-old man who suffered from hypertension.
He is asymptomatic.
He isolated in the hospital.
On the last retest on December 24, he tested positive.
He will be retested on January 1.
The second case is a 45-year-old man.
He reported negative RT-PCR on December 24 and has been repatriated.
Italy Returnee has been asymptomatic throughout and is fully vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine taken in Italy.
He has run out.
Samples of five contacts were sent to the National Center for Central Disease, Delhi.
The genome sequencing report of the remaining three is delayed.
They have all tested negatively on December 24 and discarded.
“All omicron cases have been fully vaccinated.
That might be the reason they are asymptomatic,” said the official.
