Pune: The Indian Medical Research Council (ICMR) has suggested that it did not introduce the third covid vaccine dose or recommend changes to the gap when the covishield shot behind the Omicron case.
Dr.
Samiran Panda, head of the ICMR epidemiology department, told TII that at this time the peak biomedical research body would underline the importance of achieving greater coverage with two-dose vaccination.
“With Omicron cases it is light not only in India but the world ends, there should be no knee-jerce reaction such as introducing the third dose or recommending changes in the Covishield dose interval,” he said.
“The decision whether the third dose will be needed for immunocompromised people will be taken later,” said Dr.
Panda.
He said scientific evidence of a booster dose for Medan India was being evaluated and the technical advisory group would make announcements about it.
Dr.
Panda said the focus of public health must be in double vaccination and complete the adult immunization program now because the two dose vaccine strategy seems to work well in the context of India.
On demand from countries such as Maharashtra, Kerala and Karnataka to reduce the gap between two covishield doses, ICMR scientists said scientific evidence of reality in the country showed that the interval was fine.
Dr Shahid Jameel’s virologist said Booster’s shot would increase the number of circulated antibodies and have been shown to increase protection against symptomatic infections with Omicron.
“We don’t know how well two doses continue to protect from severe illnesses.
In the UK, those who get the AstraZeneca vaccine get a booster from the MRNA Pfizer or Modern vaccine.
The third dose of Astrazeneca will not be very effective because it won’t be very effective because it won’t be very effective because it won’t be very effective because it won’t be very effective.
Its nature, “he said.
