New Delhi: Omicron variant of Covid-19 is in the transmission stage of the community in India and has become dominant in several metro where new cases increase exponentially, Insacog said in his latest bulletin.
It also said the lineage of BA.2, the sub-variant of omicron infection, has been found in a fraction in this country.
Insacog, on the January 10 bulletin released on Sunday, said that most cases of Omicron have so far asymptomatic or mild, hospitalization and ICU cases have increased in the current waves and the level of threat remains unchanged.
“Omicron is now in community transmission in India and has become dominant in several metro, where new cases increase exponentially.
BA.2 Lineage is in a substantial fraction in India and high-gene dropout-based screening to provide high false negatives,” It said.
The s-gene drop-out is a genetic variation like that from Omicron.
“Recently reported a lineage B.1.640.2 was being monitored.
There is no evidence of rapid deployment and while it has an imune running feature, currently it is not a concerned variant.
So far, there are no cases detected in India,” Insacog said.
Insacog, in the January 3 bulletin which was also released on Sunday, also said Omicron is now in community transmission in India and has become dominant in Delhi and Mumbai where new cases have increased exponentially.
“The spread of omicron further in India is now expected to be able to through internal transmission, not foreign travelers, and revised sampling strategies and sequencing insacogs are being worked on overcoming the objectives of the genome supervision after changes in a dynamic viral infection scenario,” Insacog said.
“The right behavior and vaccination of Covid is the main shield of all mutations of the Sarscov-2 virus,” he said.
Insacog, under the Ministry of Health and the welfare of the United States, reported the supervision of the SARS COV -2 genome throughout the country through sample sequencing from Sentinel site and also detailed the analysis of the district of countries for several countries.
As many as 1,50,710 samples were sorted and 1, 27,697 samples were analyzed so far with insacog.
