Omicron: Koc HOSP revives the initial pandemic protocol

Kolkata: Two cases of obsicrons suspected of leading private hospitals in Kolkata to revive their old Covid porotocol, including record the history of patients with symptoms and isolate those who have been abroad recently or come into contact with these individuals.
The use of PPES is being upgraded and frontline workers have been asked to strictly follow the specified security norms.
Some hospitals have begun to identify areas for separate omicron insulation environments.
AMRI Hospital, where the first Omicron suspect is now recognized, has revived the Covid Unit Committee which was formed immediately after the emergence of last year’s pandemic and included the infection control team, microbiological experts and critical care experts.
“We have returned to the steps at the beginning of the pandemic.
Our health workers have been asked to follow all safety steps because this variant seems to be more contagious.
The suspect has been stored in a separate room even when we are waiting for a confirmation report.
We also waited for direction from The government does we have to have a separate Omicron ward, “said CEO Amri Rupak Barua.
He added that a more detailed history of travel is currently being sought from patients.
Hospitals emphasize travel history from Covid Hospital + RN Tagore patients, those who have a recent history of travel to South Africa and certain countries will now be isolated and tested for Covid before being guided to fever clinics if they have symptoms t come into contact with other patients.
“Samples of those who have a positive travel history test will be sent to the order of the genome through the Hospital ID,” said Zonal Head RTIICS R Venkatesh.
He added that while the temperature filtering of all patients would continue, the allegation of patients would now go through stringent screening if they had a history.
The isolation room was identified for Omicron patients in Medica, which also increased safety norms since Friday.
“In the event that there is the spread of Omicron, we will be ready with a separate room for each patient.
Every Covid suspect was being asked for a detailed trip note,” said Chairson Medica Alok Roy.
Peerless Hospital, too, has told his staff about the need to strengthen safety steps and ensure that every history of every patient is noted.
“We have diligently maintained a history of each covid positive since the emergence of pandemic.
Because the number of Covid patients has fallen, each patient is now given a separate room,” said CEO Nearless Sudipta Mitra.
However, the hospital hopes that these steps may not be necessary for a long time because most cases of omicrons are reportedly mild.
“The suspect who now claims to not show the symptoms and the majority of those who have tested the positive variant.
We keep our fingers cross,” Barua said.
