Lucknow: Concerns over the situation Covid-19 deepened further on Tuesday with 992 cases more detected in the state in the last 24 hours.
Counting cases on Tuesday almost doubled from 572 cases recorded on Monday.
In addition, the sequencing genome report traces 23 new cases of Omicron strains, taking the total such cases in the country to 31, and leaving health officials worried about a sharp surge.
The resources of the Ministry of Health said 23 new Omicron cases included eight in Lucknow, five in Meerut, three in Ghaziabad, two of each in Moradabad, Kanpur, Agra, and one in Maharajanjj.
Before this, the total eight omicron cases were reported, including from Muzaffarnagar (3), Ghaziabad (2), Rae Bareli (1), Meerut (1), Gautam Budh Nagar (1).
Also, at least 50 samples for delayed genome sequencing.
This means that new strain is present in 10 cities above.
Additional Chief Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Amit Mohan Prasad said prevention was very necessary because the Covid-19 pandemic had increased its activities in the state.
“While the surge in new cases is undeniable, the amount of hospitalization is low.
But prevention must ensure that the system and resources are not overwhelmed,” he said.
The official bulletin showed that the surge in cases was seen in major cities, including Gautam Budh Nagar (165), Ghaziabad (174), Lucknow (150) and Meerut (102).
Also around 13 other cities make double digit entries in the last 24 hours.
Although there was no newly reported death, 77 people recovered from infection and took the total covid patients who were cured to 1.68,807.
Data shows that the number of active cases increases to 3,173 with new entries.
With this, only two of the 75 districts in the state have the presence of a pandemic virus.
ACS Prasad urges people to adhere to Covid-19 prevention protocols tightly and will be vaccinated as soon as possible in the interests of individual and social.
