Omicron scare: Karnataka onto the vigil, contact to be tracked in 24 hours

Bengaluru: In the background of the omicron variant spread rapidly throughout the world and 19 cases reported in Karnataka, the government on Wednesday issued a circular directed the authorities to increase supervision by restarting the use of quarantine watch applications.
Kindergarten Anil Kumar, Primary Secretary, the main and family welfare department, directed all district authorities to ensure the staff dedicated to contact contacts and to watch quarantine and house isolation immediately.
“Tracking, tracking, and quarantine carried out actively must be reported in the Contact Search and Application of Quarantine watches, which will be activated with the re-orientation needed to the BBMP health authority and the difference,” read circular.
This adds that to prevent the occurrence of the third wave, it is necessary to track, track, and quarantine primary and secondary contacts from covid positive people within 24 hours.
The main contact must be tested on day 1 and days 8 and houses are quarantined during this period.
If they test positively, they must be treated and managed according to the country’s Covid protocol.
“Likewise, international travelers from high-risk countries need to be quarantined for seven days from the date of arrival, to follow-up and (undergo) repeat the RT-PCR test on the 8th day,” read the circle.
Circular also said the war room at the level of central, district, zones and assembly constituents must be reactivated and made fully functional to monitor and supervise activities.
The BBMP began preparation for the third wave after the global scenario surge in Covid cases, BBMP had held a meeting with a private hospital, lodges and hotels for the past two days, asked them to be prepared for the third wave.
Private hospitals have been asked to renew their mous with medical oxygen suppliers and ensure they are ready to share the bed with the government if a surge case.
In the meeting, the BBMP authority stated that the ICU retreated might have to be arranged in hotels as they were doing at the top of the second wave.
“The occupancy rate of the bed in Bengaluru does not change and we do not see the third wave sign.
However, we have held a meeting with the main stakeholders to reactivate the facilities required, if the need arises,” said Dr.

HM Prasanna, President, Personal Hospital and Nurse House Association (Phan), said BBMP has asked Members Phana to provide a list of Consolidated pediatric ICU beds among all hospitals.
“We will immediately share a list of pediatric ICU beds with private hospitals and also ensure all members renew the mous with medical oxygen suppliers to avoid the situation of the second wave,” Dr.
