Vadodara: A woman who lives in the Tandalja area of the city that has been tested positive for Covid-19 was previously found infected by Omicron variants.
The woman had returned from England and did not come into contact with many people.
The woman is the third case of the Omicron variant detected in the city.
Previously the elderly pair living in the Harni City area was found infected with a variant.
The 27-year-old woman has returned to form England on December 13.
He has been tested in England and at Mumbai airport and negative for Covid-19.
The next day he arrived, he had a fever and was tested again.
This time he felt positive and was in a house isolation.
The woman only had two close contacts tested on December 15 and was found negative.
After he was found positively, the sample was also sent for genome sequencing.
The sequencing report arrived on Monday and revealed that he was infected by the Omicron variant.
He was under the isolation of hospitals in a private hospital.
The health department official was also awaiting a statement of the genome sequencing of a boy studied at Cygnus school in the city.
While he has been tested positively on December 16, he did not go to school since December 10.
Concern about the boy is that he is a contact near the elderly pair from Harni who has been tested positively and found infected with Omicron variants.
The boy sample has also been sent for genome sequencing.
“Schools have taken necessary precautions even though there are very few chances of children who contact or distribute infections there,” said an official.
