Ranchi: The omicron variant of the Covid virus has reached Jharkhand in early January 1, the results of the sample arriving from Bhubaneshwar on Saturday showing medical science (rim) sent to the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubneshwar for the sequencing of the genome.
“Of the 87 samples, 14 confirmed for the Omicron variant while one was found infected with the Delta variant and 32 samples were other variants of concern (VOC) from the Sarcov-2 virus,” he said.
32 samples tested for the presence of VOC are mixed nature and not categorized separately, he added.
