PANAJI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will arrive at Goa on a one-day visit on Sundays to participate in the 60-year anniversary of Goa Liberation, will inaugurate and put the foundation stone for several development projects worth more than RS 650 Crore.
Some of the main mode projects will be installed are renovated Fort Aguada Prison Museum, Super-Special Blocks at Goa Medical College (GMC), New South Goa District Hospital, flight skills development center at the Mopa airport, and gas-isolated substation in Davorlim Navelim, Margao.
The super-special GMC block, built at a cost of more than Rs 380 Crore under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Surakha Yojana, is the only super-special public hospital in Goa which provides upper class services to the public.
It has services such as angioplasty, bypass surgical, kidney transplantation, dialysis, etc., and will accommodate 1,000 LPM PSA factories.
The district hospital, built at a cost of around Rs 220 Crore, is equipped with modern medical infrastructure including OPD services in 33 specializations.
It will have the latest diagnostic and laboratory services such as physiotherapy and audiometry.
The hospital has 500 oxygenated beds, 5,500 liter LMO tanks, and 2 PSA planting 600LPM.
Meanwhile, the return of the Aguada Fort Jail Museum as the purpose of tourism inheritance has been carried out at a cost of more than RS 28 Crore.
Before the liberation of Goa, this fort was used to imprison and torture freedom fighters.
The museum will highlight the contributions and sacrifices carried out by leading freedom fighters who struggle for liberation.
The skill development center in Mapa, was built at a cost of Rs 8.5 Crore, will provide training in 16 job profiles.
And the Davorlim substation, built at a cost of Rs 16 Crore, will give strength to the surrounding villages.
Modi will also put the foundation stone for international education universities and research the board of the Council of India, aiming to change the cave to a higher and more technical education center.
Towards the election of assembly of 2022, Modi’s visit was also expected to galvanize BJP workers in the state.
BJP President Sadanand State Shet Tanavade told Ti that Modi was the highest party leader, and his visit would definitely increase the moral of the Yogyakarta.
“We launched our poll campaign during the National President of BJP J P Nadda.
Modi’s visit will further increase the enthusiasm of Karyakartas,” he said.
