On Ashura Day, Afghanistan in Kolkata prayed for safety

Kolkata: Afghan Diaspora in Kolkata and the suburbs offered special prayers on Friday that also occurred on Ashura Day, the 10th day of Muharram, in various mosques in and around the city.
They pray for their family safety and friends and also for their homeland after taking over by the Taliban last week.
Afghanistan, many of which have made their homes and have lived here for generations, visiting mosques in the group on Friday afternoon to offer Namaz.
“Today is a favorable day but our homeland is in chaos.
No one has a clue what happens in the future for our country and the people who live there.
It made us worried and fear, so we decided to come And pray for Friday Namaz and ask the Almighty of the safety of our good people and our country, “said Gul Mohammad, a young Afghanistan who arrived in the city five years ago.
There are many Afghans, who are often referred to as Kabuliwala by locals, who have lived in Kolkata for two or three generations now.
Previously, several Afghans lived in buildings in Park Circus, Chandni, Central Avenue, Bentinck Street and Zakaria Street who were later known as Khan Kothis in the neighborhood.
Now many of them have shifted to the outskirts and also to other cities in the eastern and northeastern state.
Afghanistan in Kolkata makes the point to gather in Maidan every Sunday for cricket games and then continue to drink tea in their favorite places in Central Kolkata.
On Friday afternoon, several groups of Afghans wore Pathan clothes, hats and Safas they arrived at the mosques throughout the city to offer Namaz.
“My brother and family are at Mazar-I-Sharif.
I have talked to him several times and they seem fine.
There is no news about the new incident there, but I am still worried about the future of the country and the people,” said Dildar Khan , Another Afghanistan in the city.
There are nearly 7,000 people from Afghanistan now living in Kolkata and other cities in the state.
Many of them have visited Afghanistan very little since they arrived here.
