New Delhi: Construction of High-Phase-III Corridors Barapullah is likely to get speed because the Delhi government is in the final stage of obtaining the land needed for the project.
The Department of Public Works (PWD) has been waiting for land to build a 3.5km stretch from Sarai Kale Khan to Mayor Vihar-I, who will give a signal-free trip from East Delhi to AIIM.
“The last date of written submission of this project is January 20, after that the late acquisition of land will be completed,” said Vishwendra, District Habistrate, South East District, which oversees the land acquisition process.
Last September, the Delhi government had issued a notification for around 8.5 hectares obtained on the banks of the Yamuna River.
The last date to hear objections about this land is January 5, when the district authority meets the landowner.
15 more days given for written submission by 25 people who are part of the trial.
This deadline ended on January 20.
After this, compensation for land will be given to landowners.
“We will start working immediately after we get land from the administration.
Has been stuck over the past five years.
We hope to get land soon,” said a senior PWD official who worked on the project.
PWD must set up two wells and giant columns on the banks of the river to support amazing bridges.
The land on the plains of the flood of Yamuna Berawa and the construction is difficult.
At least eight months will be needed only to build these wells.
Gazette notification issued by the Delhi government in the last week of August 2021 stated that the land would be needed in the village of Nanggi Razapur for the construction of the third phase of the road elevated from Sarai Kale Khan to Mayur Vihar-I.
This segment will join the existing high corridor, making travel between Vihar Mayor and AIIMS signal free.
The first phase of the corridor of Barapullah, which connected Sarai Kale Khan with Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, opened for traffic in 2010.
The second phase, which connects the Stadium Jln with the Ina Market, was made in operation several years later.
This project reached the obstacle of land acquisition and continued to break deadlines over the past few years.
Recently, the government cut the budget for an important halfway infrastructure project (from Rs 150 Crore to Rs 75 Crore).
