New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday is directed that on July 31, 2021, all states and the United States must apply the scheme of ‘one nation one of the Ransum’ (Onorc) which allows migrant workers to get the benefits of rations from any part of the country , regardless of where their ration card is registered.
The ‘One Nation One Ration Card’ is a scheme applied by the government that provides national portability for national food security ration cards (NFS).
This scheme aims to benefit migrant workers who form more than 1/4 Indian population.
Onorc will allow a migrant from Bihar to work in Punjab to be able to use the food sector has the right to the NFS law, 2013.
Until now, one can take advantage of the benefits of the NFS Act only at the designated local ration shop or a fair price store Not in the state or city they have migrated.
To promote this reform in the Public Distribution System (PDS) of Ransum in India (PDS), the center also provides additional loan incentives to countries.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, at least 17 states, who implemented Onorc reform, were allowed to borrow additional Rs 37,600 crores at 2020-21.
