Thiruvananthapuram: A driver of a rickshaw automatically died and two passengers were injured after the private bus hit them on the national highway near Mamom below the attingal police station on Friday morning.
Vikraman, 62, a resident of Avanavancherri near Melamkonam near Attingal is the deceased.
According to the police, the accident occurred around 10:30 a.m.
at Palamoodu near Mamom.
Automatic rickshaw moves from Mamam towards Attingal.
The bus that caused the accident also moved in the same direction.
The accident occurred when the bus tried to catch a pedicab.
The bus crashes the front of the pedicab consisting of the driver’s cabin while overtaking.
Vikraman suffered a serious injury in the accident while the two women in the passenger seat survived with a minor injury.
Vikraman was rushed to Medical Medical Hospital Thiruvananthapuram, but doctors could not save him.
The police said that according to the initial evidence collected, the driver of the Personal bus was guilty and therefore he had been ordered with relevant charges of causing death from negligence.
Vikraman went behind Latha’s wife, Putri Vidya and Son, Vipin.
Humans were held for Peddling marijuana: Kazhakootam police here on Friday arrested a man from Odisha on charges of peddling marijuana.
The police identified the defendant as Rabeendr Malik, 52, from Nayagarh District in Odisha.
The police also won one kilogram of marijuana from the defendant.
Police said Malik had been operating as a major supplier of marijuana among guest workers who lived in work camps under the city limits of Cyber Kazhakootam.
He was arrested when he arrived near the Eleayil Temple in an arrest with a plot of marijuana which should be sold among guest workers here.
