Letter: One person died and the other two were injured after the explosion in the sulfuric acid tank at the SRF factory Ltd in Dahej on Monday night.
According to the police, the explosion occurred around 6:15 a.m.
on the first floor of the unit where five people worked.
Three people were seriously injured and the other two were saved.
“There was an explosion in the sulfuric acid tank which was because the workers suffered burns.
The company did not even notify us, so we reached around 8pm when we got a message from Bharuch,” said Inspector V B Kothiya from the police station Dahej.
The incident was immediately controlled by the company’s emergency response team.
“Injured employees were sent to a private hospital in Bharuch.
But a worker has given up and one person has been referred to Vadodara for further treatment,” another police official said.
The deceased’s identity was not confirmed when the police were involved in the examination and Panchnama until Monday late at night.
However, local sources said that the victim came from Vagra Taluka from Bharuch.
