LOS ANGELES: A single man was killed and a dozen hurt in a drive-by shooting spree Thursday because a gunman roamed the roads at the northeast US state of Arizona, authorities said.
Over the span of one-and-a-half hours, even a defendant opened fire at at least eight websites around communities out Phoenix, seemingly randomly, until he had been taken into custody in a traffic stop.
In addition to this fatality, three additional individuals were taken while the other two suffered minor injuries involving from glass.
None of the injuries were regarded as life-threatening.
“We do not understand what the motive was, so we still do not have some notion about exactly what this man was thinking if he went outside and did so,” said Peoria police spokesman Brandon Sheffert.
“Clearly we would like to figure out that, since there’s a whole lot of frightened people — lots of individuals who this impacted,” he told a media conference held inside because of underfloor heating wave temperatures up to 118F (48C) at Phoenix.
The defendant was discontinued after firefighters spotted a car fitting the description of numerous accounts, and he didn’t resist arrest.
1 weapon has been recovered in the car.
The episode follows recent mass shootings from the neighboring countries of California, in which a railroad yard worker murdered nine people every month, and Colorado, in which ten expired in a supermarket shop in March.
