Thiruvananthapuram: One person died and five students suffered an injury after the KSRTC bus reached the concrete structure of the warehouse waiting for a roof in Aryanad here.
Wounded children were taken to Medical College Hospital.
The person who died was identified as Soman Nair, 65, a resident of Cherermanchal near Aryanad.
Four injured students were sent home from the hospital after preliminary treatment, while a student had been hospitalized.
The accident occurred at the Cherumanchal bus stop in Aryanad.
The bus stop is located next to the curve.
The police said that the KSRTC driver was negotiating the curve when part of the bus was scratched with the top of the concrete roof and roof bus warehouse given under his impact.
It fell from the students and Nair Soman who was waiting at the bus stop.
Aryanadu Sho Jose N R said that students only suffered minor injuries and that the bus warehouse would collapse due to lack of stability.
Panchayat authorities say that the bus warehouse is around 18 years old and structural instability may be a problem.
