THANE: One more case of fake vaccination was registered with Naupada police station in Thane on Friday.
The police said that on 26 May, an insurance company based in Panchpakhadi area had organised a vaccination camp for the employees of the company of their two branches.
The accused in connivance with each other administered a total of 116 people with fake vaccines at an insurance company in Thane’s Panchpakadi.
“They charged Rs 1,000 per person and collectively siphoned off Rs 1.16 Lakh.
The accused also gave four fake certificates of Covishield to the victima,” said Anil Mangle, senior inspector of Naupada police station.
The police said that it was through mutual contact by one accused that the company organised the vaccination scam.
