Gurugram: The police have broken down other fake call centers operating from sector 69 along the South Peripheral Road.
The call center deceived foreign nationals by threatening to cancel the amount of their social security, the officer said.
This is the 15th Sham call center broken this year.
Call Center employees, according to the police, used to send mass voice messages to Canadians and Australia told them that their names have emerged in illegal activities that can cause cancellation of their social security numbers.
They were asked to call a pulse number.
Call landing in the call center, where employees implicate law enforcement officers and told them to make payments through a gift card to prevent cancellation.
A team from the Sector Police Station 65 raided the call center, which operated on the 10th and 11th floor of the Spaze Plazo building in Sector 69, on Wednesday.
The 10th floor was locked, while around 200 computers and one laptop was found on the 11th floor.
No one was found on the floor.
The cyber team checks the computer and finds a script to cheat callers.
It was found that two people, Hansraj and Sachin, had taken the rental floor to run the call center.
The police team was named Hansraj to ask about the Call Center license, but he failed to provide details.
“They might have heard of the attack and escaped from the place,” said a senior police officer.
A case is registered at the Cyber Police Station under the 420 Section (cheat) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) IPC and Section 66D (cheating on personation using computer resources) and 75 (violations or violations committed outside India).
This is the 15th SHAM call center damaged in the city this year.
All targets foreign residents and deceive them with the pretext of providing technical support or customer service and preventing the cancellation of social security numbers.
