Thiruvananthapuram: City police have arrested one member of the marijuana and drug smuggling gang that had attacked the police using raw explosives at home tours in Killiplam last month during the attack.
The police identified the defendant as Ananthu, 22, from Kunnappuzha near Thirumala.
The incident was related to this case took place on October 18.
A police team consisting of members of the Karamana police station and anti-narcotics cells were attacked by gangs using raw explosives when the former raided the tourist house in Killiplam to catch a gang.
Gang members hid in a room on the third floor of a tourist house.
While the police managed to call two, including 17 years old, from the place.
They also confiscated five kilograms of marijuana, a small number of MDMA synthetic drugs and dangerous weapons such as three air guns and two machetes from their rooms.
The other two, including Ananthu, managed to escape after distracting the officers by throwing a rough bomb to them.
