Nagpur: In another decisive action, the Maharashtra Pollution Control Agency (MPCB) has turned off one more industry in the region for violating environmental norms.
This is the second action in a week.
On Wednesday, the MPCB Regional Office turned off Crystal Crop Protection Limited, a pesticide manufacturing unit operating in the MIDC area of ​​Butibori since November 2019.
The unit was found to have toxic waste outside the factory spot.
Last week, the Board had published notification of closing to Shilpa Steel and Power Limited based in the same area, because it did not comply with the norms associated with waste disposal.

Crystal Crop Protection Limited has also become the perpetrator of the habit of saying the source.
“This unit has repeatedly violated the conditions mentioned in the agreement given by the council.
Previously, in November 2019, this industry was found to have red waste outside the place.

“This unit also has not provided a concrete platform along with a warehouse for liquid chemical storage.
Also, there are no provisions for the anti-leaky acid layer throughout the place,” the notification added, stating that the board has provided enough opportunity to the unit to improve operations and Maintenance of existing pollution control settings.
MPCB ​​has issued a closing notification along with directions to MIDC and MSEDCL to cut water supply and electricity units.
Referrals are issued in the water provisions (prevention and control of pollution) ACT, 1974 and air (pollution prevention and control) ACT, 1981.
