One ration card: Bihar reported the maximum intra-state and Delhi recorded transactions between the highest countries

New Delhi: Bihar recorded a maximum intra-state transaction for almost six crores to lift free foodgrain by the poor since August 19 when the center launched the One Country Rational Platform (Onorc).
In the inter-state transaction category, Delhi filled the list with 4.3 lakh transactions followed by Haryana and Maharashtra.
This shows that while Bihar might have seen maximum maximum migration in the state during this period, maximum maximum migration from other countries has been to Delhi.
The Onorc platform is set to ensure that the recipient of poor benefits can obtain very subsidized food rights from the central government scheme of a fair price store or their preferred ration shop in their home country or in other states where they live or work.
.
Official data shows that of the total Intra-State 52.92 Crore transactions to raise the meadow entitled from the Public Distribution System (PDS) during this period, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan recorded 2.1 Crore transactions and 2.16 crores.
As far as transactions between countries, Haryana and Maharashtra recorded 73,710 and 37,034 transactions until December.
Keep in mind that Delhi is one of the last / UT countries to join the Onorc platform, but in several months the National Capital sees the maximum of these transactions and in December only nearly 80% of all transactions between countries registered in Delhi.
Officials said intra and inter-state transactions increased significantly because the government launched PM Garib Kalyan Ann YOJNA (PMGKAY) – the scheme to provide additional five kg for free foodgrain per month to almost 80 crores identified beneficiaries – affected by covid- 19 pandemic.
PMGKAY has been applied in five phases and this will continue until the end of March.
The Ministry of Food said that so far 759 lakh tons of free gardens have been allocated to the state and UTS for distribution, which is equivalent to around RS 2.6 lakh crore in food subsidies.
Countries and UTS have so far been distributed around 580 lakh tons of foodgrains to beneficiaries.
It is said more than 93% of the identified beneficiaries have received a free foodgrain under the PMGKAY scheme.
The ministry said during the first phase and second Mizoram and Meghalaya reached 100% free food distribution.
During the third and fourth phase, Chhattisgarh achieved a 98% distribution followed by Tripura, Mizoram, Delhi and West Bengal each reaching 97%.
The ministry also said 12 states and UTS including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh recorded 98-100% aadhaar distributed food ingredients during all five phases of PMGKAY.
