Onions, tomato prices rose in the celebration season, stable oil rates

New Delhi: In the midst of the government’s efforts to check the prices of main kitchen items during the celebration season, the price trend in these products in recent weeks shows that it remains a difficult challenge.
While the average pulse and vegetable oil prices remain almost the same as one month back, the price of onions and tomatoes has risen due to increased fuel prices and damage to summer plants.

A year back the average price reaches Rs 46 per kg.
In some urban centers such as Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai, the price of onions is in the range of Rs 50-65 per kg on Sundays.
In terms of tomatoes, the average price on Sunday is Rs 45 per kg compared to Rs 27 kg in September and Rs 41 per kg one year back.
